Ragnar von Schiber is Associate Director, Corporate & Employee Giving at Genentech, responsible for corporate citizenship, employee giving and volunteerism. Ragnar’s team is accountable for Futurelab, Genentech’s signature STEM education initiative that provides hands-on science education to every K-12 student in the South San Francisco Unified School District, with the ultimate vision of nurturing the next generation of scientists and innovators. This year alone, more than 1,300 Genentech employees will have volunteered over 25,000 hours across Futurelab’s various programs and activities.

Ragnar’s spent his career building volunteer programs and cultivating alliances to engage and motivate professionals, maximize impact for organizations and benefit communities. Prior to joining Genentech, Ragnar worked at the Taproot Foundation, where he headed up grant-making and volunteer management for the West Coast, driving relationships for both nonprofits looking to strengthen their infrastructure through skills-based and pro bono volunteering and for professionals eager to contribute to cause.
